Welcome!

Hey there!

Welcome to my blog! On this blog I will be discussing all things voice acting as well as promoting work from myself and other like minded voice actors. You will see various links on this site such as: advice for beginner and intermediate voice actors, fan work (such as comic dubs and fan dubs), demo reels, original work, and many more. This blog is meant to be used and reflected as an ongoing journey alongside a fresh voice actor. So, you’ll have the benefit to hopefully grow alongside me as a navigate this crazy world that we live in.

First and foremost, a little bit about myself, my name is Skyler Angus-Barker. I am currently 24 years old and I’m also completing my graduate education with the University of Southern Mississippi. I work for WUSM as a radio host and show booker where I have the privilege of informing our listeners with what’s going on in the world with local, state, and national news as well as interviewing various guests. Some guests that I’ve interviewed include: political candidates, nonprofit organizations, golden glove boxers, musicians, and  animal shelters. I have been working for WUSM for roughly 2 years, closer to 3 years, and I love every second of it. I am a Spider-Man fanatic, collecting several things related to the character such as movie memorabilia, figures, posters, and comics. I love playing trading card games such as Card Fight Vanguard, Yu-Gi-Oh! and many others. I’m absolutely in love with Dungeons and Dragons, where I have led games and played and many more. My favorite character, so far, is an Earth Genasi Storm Herald Barbarian named Adamant. I am the owner of a lovely little hamster named Daxter, whose name was inspired from the hit PlayStation series “Jak and Daxter”.

When it comes to voice acting, I have been voice acting since 2015 where I’ve had the pleasure of voicing original characters, providing my personal take on pre-existing characters, done commercial and educational and sung covers of various genres of songs. Some of my favorite characters I have done is for projects such as “The Mark Side”, an indie animation show starring a quirky teenager, and “Danganronpa : Driven Betrayal”, a fan series where high schoolers are stuck in a killing game where they have to kill each other and get away with it to survive. Also, I have done numerous promos for clients such as: Hub City Hoedown, Lockout Locksmith, the University of Southern Mississippi, and many more. I have done an educational module for the University of Southern Mississippi’s medical department where I gave information on various topics such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope that we both continue to grow as people and as voice actors as this blog continues. I’m looking forward to posting to this blog with projects, my thoughts on equipment, information about other voice actors, and many more. Check out my next blog post for more!
